The Uncrafting Table is an item added by the Twilight Forest mod which allows you to uncraft certain items back into their original resources at the cost of player levels. For example, a set of Iron Bars(16) can be uncrafted into 6 iron ingots for 6 levels of experience.
To craft the Uncrafting Table, a Maze Map Focus must be in the center surrounded by 8 Crafting Tables. They are found as loot in hollow hill chests and they tend to be very rare items and are very hard to find.
Placing any item in the left slot will indicate if that item may be uncrafted. With enough levels, pulling an item from the center slot will perform the uncrafting. However, if a selected material is highlighted in red, this means you cannot retrieve the item (mostly shown on items with an altered durability).
The Uncrafting Table also allows you to repair your tools and armor, again at an expense of experience points. If you replace the highlighted zone with the specific material needed you can recraft the item, but if the item is enchanted, it will charge you a specific experience amount, otherwise the item will not charge you to repair it.
The Uncrafting Table also allows you to recraft items, which is often used to keep a rare enchantment on an item. The Uncrafting Table can also swap enchantments from one item to another. For example, an Ironwood Sword with Knockback II and Smite V can be recrafted into a Diamond Sword with more durability for the cost of 27 levels of experience. The experience levels are generated with the amount which the enchantment is roughly created at, meaning the rarest enchantments will cost the most experience levels. This is done by overlaying the recipe of the new item onto the center grid while the old item is in the left slot.
- The Uncrafting Table only works with some items from some mod packs. It is confirmed to work with Vanilla and Twilight Forest crafted items.
- The Uncrafting Table, when used in a pack with the Gravity Gun, provides a Wither-free method of acquiring Nether Stars. After crafting a Gravity Gun, get struck by lightning (creating a Twilight Forest portal generates a guaranteed lightning strike). This supercharges the Gravity Gun, which when uncrafted, provides a Nether Star.
- Mod packs often disable the uncrafting feature in the configuration file.
