    • looks like you have 32bit Java.. You need 64bit Java

    • You have to allocate more ram to java in order for ftb to run with more, since minecraft runs on java. http://empireminecraft.com/threads/guide-how-to-allocate-more-memory-for-java-windows-mac.20011/

      Should be a good guide

    • Your Java is likely 32-bit, please replace it with a 64-bit installation.

I am also having the same problem even though my computer has 16 gig and the 64 bit JDK, it was working for me for a time but now i can't use more than 1 gig and my game keeps running out of memory. When I check in process explorer while running FTB, it's running my 64 bit java in program files x86, but i still can only add 1 gig, the heck?

      Download 64 bit. Win.

Yes, your hardware can run 64bit. It would be too pathetic to run Minecraft otherwise. If your OS isn't 64 bit, you got ripped off. Never shop there again.

    • I really like the idear how FTB likes to troll 32-Bit OS xD Its quit clever to force it down with it´s own launcher, it even overrides any manual command or extension you do to Java yourself.

Just take the modpack, install forge manual into the minecraft.jar and use a standart minecraft launcher. FTB-Launcher is just a hard troll from the makers because they hate 32-Bit and wanna force you to update. Simple as that.

You sir, have no idea what you are talking about. And you make it very apparent. Even with the 1.6 Minecraft launcher, you can't allocate more than 1GB without 64 bit Java, because Java can't handle it. It has nothing to do with the FTB Team. So, actually know what you are talking about, before you talk shit like that.

    • ok, well i did some looking, and mine goes out of mem too, but first it gets unplayably choppy, and monitoring the ram, i can change it past 1 gig ether, but thats never been an issue, and watching the F3 overlay, garbage collection is cleaning it out just fine, and it's staying between 430 and 650 so thats not the issue, i don't know if you issue is the same as mine, but my symtoms are the following

works fine for about 5 minutes give or take

starts stuttering for about 30 seconds about every 10

becomes unplayably choppy with 0 fps

after long enough of that it some times does out of memory, i don't know if thats just my issue, or if y our problems are connected

    • I had the same problem before, couldn't allocate more than 1GB, just downloaded 64-bit Java, and it fixed everything now I can go up to 10GB. Java made me download 32-bit for some reason, even though I am running a 64-bit OS, dunno why lol.

      64-bit download: http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Uninstall your current version of Java, and download the 64-bit version.

Just remember Minecraft is SERIOUSLY RAM dependent, FTB won't allow to use your entire RAM setup, usually 90% or so of it. If you have a large hard drive you can allocate Virtual Memory using your harddrive, and that might also speed things up a little. Hope this helps. :D

Yeah i do, and stop to tell people wrong things, and why would i use Minecraft 1.6 with Unhinged as a example? But i can really calm you down, you can get your 32-Bit to allocate more then 1 gig ram. I can only tell everybody that uses a 32-Bit and make adjustments on their own, dont use the FTB launcher. It forces your settings to reset in your OS, and thats, sir, is a step to far that the FTB team did when their launcher touches the OS systemfiles. And yes, it does ;) so dont let you tell otherwise from that guy here, typicall 32-bit rager ^^
